Brewery Maintenance Mechanic Technician
The Brewery Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive, periodic, and unscheduled maintenance of all brewing, utility, and facilities equipment. The position will also be required to assist in other day-to-day brewery operations to support wort production and packaging.

- Responsible for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical brewery equipment.
- Monitor the performance and recording of product water testing and salt addition, as well as boiler water testing on a daily basis.
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment.
- Aid in the completion of Capital projects.
- Assess equipment performance and recommend changes for process improvement.
- Monitor water use and wastewater discharge in order to comply with the City of Turlock and other agency requirements.
- Be available on call to troubleshoot and repair systems.
- As needed, assist packaging personnel during bottling and canning runs.
- Monitor plant cleanliness, process applications, and materials organization and suggest improvements where needed.
- Safely operate a forklift.

- Mechanical Aptitude
Must have an in-depth understanding of the operation of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, valves (pneumatic and manual), motors, circuit breakers, variable frequency drives, Sanitary welding, fabrication, boiler systems, wastewater treatment, HVAC, secondary refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, sanitary design, understanding of electrical circuits, proximity sensors/switches and be able to troubleshoot them.
Familiar with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications. At a minimum, intermediate-level skill with Excel and Word.
Ability to read and effectively interpret documents and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers or employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as totals and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures and in a warehouse environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Must be able to travel up and down 45 steps as required. Must have full use and a full range of motion of both hands and arms. Must be able to work around moving equipment and hazardous chemicals. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, kneel, crouch, reach and work from different heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and hand and eye coordination.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, regular, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, periodic weekend work and overtime required as job duties demand.
No travel is required for this position.
Required Education and/or Experience
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in production facilities with an emphasis on food processing and packaging.
