Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of wort/wash, green beer, dry-hopped, fruited, and brite beer production, as well as distillation of gin, rum, whiskey, vodka, and other spirits, from wash and diluted bulk spirit.  The position will also be required to clean all tanks and associated equipment.

Turlock – Quality Assurance Lab Technician I


Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician I will be responsible for aiding the QA Manager in all aspects of the Dust Bowl Brewing Co. Quality Assurance Program.  The primary responsibilities of the Brewery QA Tech I will be to execute daily laboratory tasks and related work while working closely with other supported departments to service ongoing product quality and production goals.

Turlock – Busser


What you bring to the table that will make you shine in the Busser position…quite literally. If you enjoy a fast-paced and fun environment, we have a golden hopportunity for you! You will greet guests and serve drinks; providing refills as needed.  You will also need to remove used tableware between courses: clear, wipe down, and reset tables after guests leave. As the backbone of our service staff, you will be constantly on the move. It will be your responsibility to keep your area sanitary and orderly. The amount of love and dedication that goes into each beer we make should also be given to each table’s experience while visiting our Taproom.

The Server provides friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests.  Each server’s primary objective is to create a marvelous experience for our guests so that they will want to repeatedly return and support the Dust Bowl Brand.

Known for our Okie Nachos and PB&J Burger, our kitchen is responsible for preparing food that pairs perfectly with our Award-Winning beer.  You would be responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products, as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking; perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating, garnishing of cooked items, and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates. Brewer Operator I


Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of green beer, dry-hopped, fruited, and brite beer production, as well as assisting in packaging operations. The position will also be required to clean all tanks and equipment and assist in warehouse operations and drive company-provided vehicles.

Essential Job Functions

  • Receiving, inventory, and storing raw materials and products (Verification of condition/quantity)
  • Dry hop (both automated and manual) and fruit beers in fermenters
  • Learn and train from Standard Operating Procedures
  • Operate filter and centrifuge for beer clarification
  • Sample tanks for gravity, pH, CO2/DO levels, yeast cell counts, and document all actions taken or changes occurring with a beer. Harvest and handle yeast
  • CIP and manual cleaning of all tanks and equipment. Perform periodic maintenance to assist the Maintenance Manager
  • Assist packaging team when needed
  • Interact with taproom staff and customers professionally
  • Drive forklift

Education and/or Experience

Degree, diploma, or certificate of completion from an accredited brewing school or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Familiar with MS Windows operating systems and MS Office applications. At a minimum, intermediate-level skills in Excel and Word. Experience with Orchestrated Beer is a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and effectively interpret documents and manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as totals and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

 Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment

This job operates indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

Physical Demands

The position will occasionally be required to work in the warehouse environment to facilitate shipment activities and assist with warehouse functions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as required.
  • Must travel up and down 45 steps as required.
  • Must be able to use both hands and arms in a full range of motion.
  • Must have good hand and eye coordination skills.
  • Must be able to work around moving equipment and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to speak, hear and smell.
  • The employee is consistently required to walk, balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must always be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and consistently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work consistently in a standing position for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time regular hourly position with shifts scheduled according to the operational business needs. Day, evening, and weekend work are required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma

A degree, diploma, or certificate of completion from an accredited brewing school or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
